- TASTING NOTE: Grown on Silex (flint) soils, it has gentle acidity with strong flinty/smoky minerality and long flavours of citrus and stone fruits. It is made in a slightly old-fashioned style with subdued aromatics and a focus more on texture but that is not to say it’s not a fantastic wine!
- ABOUT THE WINE: 100% Sauvignon Blanc. Sustainably farmed, all the grapes are harvested by hand and indigenous yeast used for fermentation. In the winery Jacky practices a philosophy of minimal intervention which includes using gravity instead of pumps to transfer wines between vessels and cellars.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Located in the village of Meusnes in the Valencay AOC, Jacky Preys and his son Pascal farm a total of 80 hectares including a high proportion of very old vines scattered around Meusnes so yields are not so high. The grapes are Pinot Noir, Gamay, Malbec, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay but the pièce de résistance of this collection of wines is the extremely rare and virtually extinct ‘Fie Gris’ (aka Sauvignon Rose) from 100 year old vines. The flint rich soils add a nervous energy and strong smoky mineral aromas and clean, crisp citrus driven flavours. Jacky and Pascal farm sustainably, harvesting all the old vines by hand, using minimal intervention winemaking including indigenous yeasts and gravity to transfer wines between vessels and cellars.

A: Yes if they have your receipt. However all alcohol orders must be picked up by an individual 18 year or older. Proof of age and sobriety are required as per RSA regulation.
