- TASTING NOTE: "The fruit macerates on skins for 24 hours – a good measure for building texture into the wine. Slippery textured with just a little nibble of grip and chew through the finish. Very floral fragrance with some mandarin juice, orange marmalade, light ginger, rosewater and Turkish delight to sniff on. The palate similarly set, a bit of additional lychee and rosewater to taste, albeit finishing with saline minerality, too. Lovely, light on flavours here. Pleasing." 92 Points - Mike Bennie, Halliday Wine Companion
- ABOUT THE WINE: "Our Block 4 Gewurztraminer was harvested in the morning, destemmed and then left to macerate on skins overnight for gentle extraction of flavor and phenolics before pressing. The pressed juice was cold settled and then transferred to a stainless-steel tank with some solids." Forest Hill
- ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Forest Hill Vineyard has a unique place in the history of Western Australia’s wine industry, being the first cool climate vineyard planted in the state in 1965 as an experiment by the Western Australian Department of Agriculture. The original vineyard was planted with Riesling and Cabernet cuttings sourced from the Houghton's property in the Swan Valley. The property was purchased by the Lyons family in 1996 who embarked on a program to rejuvenate the old vineyards and plant appropriate new ones.
