- ABOUT THE WINE: Domaine Bernard Defaix is the largest single owner within the Côte de Léchet 1er Cru, making this wine a benchmark expression of the cru. The vineyard is ideally positioned, facing southeast and overlooking the village of Milly. The grapes come from 60-year-old vines. Approximately a quarter of the wine is fermented in old barrels, (with the remainder in stainless steel), introducing subtle oxidative notes that enhance the wine's fruity and mineral complexity.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Bernard Defaix started with only 2 hectares in 1959, and the estate remains a family-owned business committed to sustainable and organic vine growing—a challenging task in Chablis—as well as minimal intervention winemaking. Specifically, they have a strong focus on soil protection. Today, the domain spans 27 hectares, including Premier Cru vineyards (Côte de Léchet, Vaillons, and Lys), Chablis (village appellation), and Petit Chablis.

A: Yes if they have your receipt. However all alcohol orders must be picked up by an individual 18 year or older. Proof of age and sobriety are required as per RSA regulation.
