- ABOUT THE WINE: The fruit for this wine was crushed and destemmed then fermented for 5-7 days. A portion of the blend was left for a period of extended maceration on skins followed by a gentle pressing, adding plushness and a savoury textural element to the wine. The various batches underwent malolactic fermentation in tank before 14 months maturation in a selection of French oak barriques (20% new). - Xanadu Wines

ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Xanadu Wines was established in 1977 by Dr. John Lagan who planted the Lagan vineyard in that same year. This a is a relatively flat 17 hectares site with vines rooted in a deep, gravelly loam soil over clay which allows for free draining. The original varieties planted include Cabernet Sauvignon and Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The estate's property was expanded in 1999 with planting of 14 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon and 33 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Shiraz on the Boodjidup Estate. In 2005 Xanadu Wines was purchased by the Rathbone family, further improving the quality of the wines through soil profiling, precision viticulture and reduced yields. With the acquisition of the Steven's Road vineyard in 2008 the quality of the wines has been consistently outstanding.

A: Yes if they have your receipt. However all alcohol orders must be picked up by an individual 18 year or older. Proof of age and sobriety are required as per RSA regulation.
