- TASTING NOTE: "Bing cherry, anise a whiff of chinotto and a sensitive touch of creamy oak to chaperone the flavours along a resounding line of mineralic length and sheer juiciness. Far from prosaic and a little hot. Yet certainly delicious." 92 Points - Ned Goodwin, Halliday Wine Companion
- ABOUT THE WINE: The fruit was machine picked then destemmed/crushed into small open fermenters and inoculated. The fermenters were pumped over with aeration twice a day, temperature was held around 25°C, then allowed to warm up for a long post fermentation maceration. The wine was then transferred to barrel for its malo-lactic fermentation, allowing a soft integration of the grape and oak tannins. The wine was fined with egg whites then bottled after 10 months maturation.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER: The Rockcliffe winery and vineyard business, formerly known as Matilda’s Estate, is owned by citizen of the world Dr Steve Hall. The wine ranges echo local surf place names and marine themes, headed by Rockcliffe itself but extending to Third Reef and Quarram Rocks. Over the years, Rockcliffe has won more than its fair share of trophies and gold and silver medals in wine shows. James Halliday
