- TASTING NOTE: " Deliciously savoury and herbaceous, this Cabernet from the iconic Montelena Estate is a welcome throwback. Wild anise, turned earth, and wild lavender flowers announce the aromatics, followed closely by dusty red berries. The palate is fresh and lively with savoury dill and bay leaf notes and a tremendous chalky texture that envelopes a core of bright, concentrated berries. Perfectly tart blackberries, smoky clove, and white pepper provide brightness and spice. This delicious Cabernet's finish is marked by eucalyptus and mint. (Drink between 2024-2038)" 95 Points - Clive Pursehouse, Decanter
- ABOUT THE WINE: 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 1% Cabernet Franc, aged 16 months in French and Eastern European oak, 26% new.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER: One of the icons of New World Wine. Immortalised in the film Bottle Shock, which presented a fictionalised account of the wineries triumph at the 1976 Judgement Of Paris, where it's 1973 Chardonnay outpointed some of the best white Burgundies in a blind tasting. Established in 1882, the winery stopped producing during prohibition. It came under the stewardship of Jim Barrett in the late 1960's and by 1972 wine production had re-commenced. World class Cabernet and Chardonnay are the hallmarks of Chateau Montelena.
