- TASTING NOTE: Pronounced floral notes of rose and violet, accompanied by red cherry, raspberry, tobacco, and leather. Medium-bodied with high tannins, it finishes with a pleasant balsamic touch.
- ABOUT THE WINE: The vineyard sits at an altitude of 300 meters on a hill overlooking the Tanaro River, where reflected sunlight extends the warmth of summer days, allowing Nebbiolo to fully ripen during its long growing season. The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo spontaneous fermentation in concrete vessels. Cap management follows the traditional Steccatura method, enabling gentle, extended maceration to fully extract color, tannins, and flavors. The wine is then matured for 18 months in large Slavonian oak, and bottled unfined and unfiltered.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Paolo Veglio founded Cascina Roccalini in 2003 after years of selling his grapes to some of Piemonte's most renowned wineries, eventually becoming a local legend himself. Paolo's philosophy is firmly rooted in sustainability, respecting nature’s rhythms and spaces, avoiding chemicals, and promoting biodiversity. A testament to this is his decision to leave nearly 40 acres of forested land behind his vineyards untouched, choosing not to plant them to preserve biodiversity. In the cellar, the aim is to achieve the purest expression of the Nebbiolo grape.
