- TASTING NOTE: "The Struie is Torbreck's blend of shiraz from vineyards in the Barossa and Eden valleys. Deep cassis and doris plum fruit tones with perhaps a little more blue fruits compared to the 2021 release. Hints of baking spices, sage, mace, bay leaf, roasting meats, panforte, pastis and dark chocolate. The trademark Torbreck fruit depth and concentration is certainly in play with tight, fine sandy tannins and a sense of freshness to its travel, finishing lush and long." 94 Points - Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion
- ABOUT THE WINE: Fruit is sourced from vineyards in the Barossa and Eden Valley. Aged 18 months in a combination of new (25%), and seasoned French oak barriques.
- ABOUT THE PRODUCER: First established by Dave Powell in the 1990's Torbreck Vintners was acquired in September 2013 by wealthy Californian entrepreneur and vintner Peter Kight (of Quivira Vineyards). Talented winemaker Ian Hongell joined the team in '16. Shiraz (and other Rhône varieties) is the focus, led by The Laird, RunRig, The Factor and Descendant. Wines are unfined and unfiltered and there is a focus on protecting and spotlighting the old vine vineyards within the Barossa.
