VINCENT & THEO DANCER

The second release of wines under the Théo Dancer and Roc Breia labels represents a big step up from Théo's excellent first suite.
For those new to this allocation, the wines under the Théo Dancer label are micro-négociant wines that Théo sources directly from sites and growers he believes exceptional. Meanwhile, the Roc Breïa wines come from an exciting new project in the Mâconnais. The story: in 2021, Théo was invited to visit a mature, 10-hectare vineyard in the Bray district of the Mâconnais that two investors had recently purchased. Dancer immediately saw the potential of the mature vines and limestone-rich soils. He agreed to manage the project, but only on the condition that he could control everything. Taking over in July 2021 Dancer immediately began raising the vineyard work to his standards, bringing the soils and vines back into balance, planting cover crops, cultivating inter-vine, etc. Of course, there wasn’t much to be done before the first pick. So, as good as his 2021 releases were, they are not a patch on the 2022s: a consequence of both progression in the vines and a great Burgundy vintage.
We've been lucky enough to secure small amounts of the these wines from Theo Dancer, including some Roc Breia magnums. There is also a tiny offering from Theo's father, Vincent in the allocation collection.
