- TASTING NOTE: This drinks more in line with a good Premier Cru, it displays an extraordinary depth of fruit, with quite a leesy complexity, mineral driven acidity and great length.
- ABOUT THE WINE: This comes from a plateau of limestone above the village of Chichée, next to the Premier Cru of Vaucoupins. Grapes are hand harvested and gently pressed. Only natural yeasts are used and the wine is fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine rests on lees in tank for a 20 months before it is bottled. Minimal sulphites are added.
- ABOUT THE PRODUCER: In 1988 Jean-Claude Oudin and his wife, Christiane relocated from the suburbs to Christiane’s father’s two-hectare vineyard located near the tiny village of Chichée, just south of Chablis. They have recently retired from making wine and their daughters Nathalie and Isabelle have taken over the winemaking reins. The Oudin sisters now farm 10 hectares of vines, where most of the vines have a south and southwest exposure and are located on the hilltops which surround the village of Chichée, including two premiers crus. Gentle viticulture and winemaking is the story at Domaine Oudin. Organic farming practices, natural ferments and minimal use of sulphur and fining agents (bentonite clay when needed). The Oudin style is a generous, fuller style of Chablis. This can be contributed to the wider than usual spacing between their vines, allowing more sun exposure and their preference for long lees ageing in tank before bottling.

A: Yes if they have your receipt. However all alcohol orders must be picked up by an individual 18 year or older. Proof of age and sobriety are required as per RSA regulation.
