- TASTING NOTE: "Like Pinot Blanc, the Pinot Gris grapes come from lime/loessial soils in the southern Palatinate. On the nose, it initially takes on a very reduced, red spiced, earthy, deep, and firm quality. On the palate, it becomes a rather classic Pinot Gris, which is slightly sweet, lustrous, and marries a powerful flavour with a very delicate acidity. We do not want to fulfil classic German expectations with our Pinot Gris. This is more than just a trend to us and that is why we would like to preserve the natural aroma structure. In our opinion, this is the best thing about this grape variety." Seckinger
- ABOUT THE WINE: Made from organically grown grapes planted on the 'Kalkstein' (limestone) soils of vineyards in Ruppertsberg and Maikammer, 15 to 30 years old. Macerated on skins for a maximum of 72 hours with spontaneous fermentation of the free run juice in large 500 L. oak casks with no temperature control. Elevage for 11 months, bottled without fining or filtration.

At Seckinger wines are fermented until they are bone dry, an approach different than the more 'traditional' fruit-forward styles, often with residual sugar. Never dogmatic about for example the addition of sulphur, Jonas likes the emphasize the fact the vines are farmed biodynamically rather than his wines being labelled as natural. - COUNTRY: Germany

A: Yes if they have your receipt. However all alcohol orders must be picked up by an individual 18 year or older. Proof of age and sobriety are required as per RSA regulation.
