- TASTING NOTE: A delicate Alsace Riesling, that is just starting to show some developed characters after four years in bottle. White florals, lemon, Granny Smith apple. Vibrant, mineral infused lime juice, crisp acidity and a long palate that is showing lovely weight as it wine develops in bottle.
- ABOUT THE WINE: Grapes are sourced from a dozen small plots on alluvial and gravelly soils located on the plain around the communes of Wintzenheim and Turckheim. The harvest is 100% manual. Average vine ages is 45 year. The grapes are pressed whole and are allowed settle naturally. Natural fermentation in large 100 year old casks. Aging on fine lees for several months, when it is lightly filtered and bottled.
- ABOUT THE PRODUCER: First established in 1854 the Domaine Josmeyer is now run by it third generation of the Meyer family. Sisters Isabelle and Celine farm an area of 24.4 hectares located in the heart of Alsace, near Colmar. It is made up of 90 plots located on plain soils (Wintzenheim, Turckheim and Wettolsheim) and hillsides including the Grands Crus Hengst (marl limestone soil) and Brand (granite soil). Their entire vineyard has been in organic and biodynamic cultivation since 2000 and certified since 2004. In the cellar, winemaking is minimal, with natural fermentations, no pumping (just gravity) and no additions or chaptalisation. While the initial ferment of the wines is in thermo regualted stainless steel vats, elevage takes place in century old oak tuns (1000-6000L) on fine lees. These are delightful wines, precise, soft and with a distinct lightness of style.

Q: Can someone else pickup my order?
A: Yes if they have your receipt. However all alcohol orders must be picked up by an individual 18 year or older. Proof of age and sobriety are required as per RSA regulation.
