- TASTING NOTE: The weighty mid-palate also shows peachy ripeness along with crisp acid minerality that gives the wine a refreshing cleansing quality.
- ABOUT THE WINE: Grapes are sourced from 58% Hawkes Bay and 42% Kumeu. Indigenous yeast fermentation and 100% malo-lactic fermentation. Fermentation occurs in 60% stainless steel tanks and 40% in five year old plus French oak barriques.
- ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Kumeu Estate is one of the benchmark producers of New World Chardonnay. The Brajkovich family has been in Kumeu since 1944 and the wines are currently made by New Zealand's first Master of Wine Michael Brajkovich. Michaels produces a Burgundy-influenced style of Chardonnay that featured indigenous yeasts, extended lees ageing, and malo-lactic fermentation. In 2014 Kumeu River's London based distributer Stephen Browett and his company Farr Vintners organise a blind tasting with the best palates, critics and wine writers in the world. Kumeu's Maté's, Coddington, Hunting Hill and Estate Chardonnay's were placed against a range of Premier Cru and Village Burgundies from the regions best producers. Kumeu triumphed over top white Burgundies in every flight apart from one, where it came equal first.

Pickup is available during our opening hours:

Q: Can someone else pickup my order?
A: Yes if they have your receipt. However all alcohol orders must be picked up by an individual 18 year or older. Proof of age and sobriety are required as per RSA regulation.
